Bike to the Beach
There is a small hidden beach in Sausalito called Schoonmaker Beach. The beach is surrounded by boats and right next to an excellent French restaurant. I suggest you bring a towel because although it is almost always cold in San Francisco it is almost always sunny and warm in Sausalito. You can rent a few beach cruisers, an electric mountain bike or a tandem cruiser to enjoy the afternoon in the sand. The route is fairly simple and takes about 20 minutes to get to the beach. You travel left on Bridgeway past the ferry, sailboats and the park and then you come to an area where a small hippy car is stuck in the ground. Make a right and head towards the water onto a little dirt path that will bring you to the beach. Once you’re a little red and ready to ride on you can follow the path to the Hippie Houseboat Community, Rich House Boat Community and the all the modern day pirates out at sea.
